Passenger logistics in the city should be based on well-developed public transport infrastructure (e.g. Multidimensional solution of the transport problem requires the creation of the intelligent transport and logistics system (ITLS). The main type of transport service in microsystem cities and agglomerations should be multifunctional rail transport. To mitigate this situation, two methodological tasks have been proposed: 1) the relevance of the use of the existing rail network in the city in order to solve the transport crisis and provide the simultaneous increase of its efficiency 2) a way of organizing a relatively ‘short’ speed urban transportation of passengers on the ground of the rail system of ‘urban trains’ similarly to S-Bahn (Stadtschnellbahn).
